About Patterbar

Patterbar is a female-owned, family-run Denver energy bar company founded on one simple conviction: every ingredient must be real food.
Patter Gersuk is the founder and CEO of Patterbar. One of eight children from Michigan, Patter earned her undergraduate degree from Boston College and a Master's in Public Administration from Columbia University. After relocating to London, she trained at Le Cordon Bleu. She has taught cooking classes at Williams-Sonoma, run cooking schools, and worked as a staff educator and specialty sourcer at Whole Foods Market.
In 2017, Patter's son-in-law Connor — a former Division 1 college athlete who had eaten every energy bar on the market — was eating one of Patter's homemade bars and told her she should sell them. He said most bars taste terrible, have junk ingredients, and don't actually sustain him. She looked at the ingredient lists and saw he was right: every bar on the shelf was full of isolates, brown rice syrup, "natural flavors," and lab-created fillers dressed up as health food.
Patterbar launched in 2018 at the South Pearl Farmer's Market in Denver. The Denver community embraced them immediately.
Our Promise
Every Patterbar contains 100% whole food ingredients — nothing chemically altered, nothing created in a lab, no exceptions. No "natural flavors." No brown rice syrup. No seed oils. No preservatives. No additives or binders. Just food.
In December 2024, Patterbar was ranked #1 by Consumer Reports for both Nutrition and Taste in the energy bar category. Our bars are carried at Whole Foods Market, Sprouts Farmers Market, Natural Grocers, and independent retailers nationwide.
"It's bigger than the bar." — Patter Gersuk
Made in Denver, Colorado
Patter Bar is proudly made in Denver, Colorado. We started at the South Pearl Farmer's Market and grew from there — fueled by a Denver community that believed in real food before it was a trend.
Good food doesn't need to be complicated. It just needs to be real.
